Breaking News: Time Warner Cable drops CBS in L.A., other cities

Unable to come to terms on a new distribution deal, cable TV giant Time Warner Cable will no longer carry CBS-owned television stations in Los Angeles, New York City and several other major markets around the country.
For the latest information go to www.latimes.com.The two companies have been negotiating for several weeks but remain far apart on a price for Time Warner Cable to pay for carriage of CBS-owned TV stations and cable channels. The current agreement expired Monday at 2 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time but was extended several times -- until talks broke off at 9 p.m. In Southern California, KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV will come off of Time Warner Cable systems. In New York, WCBS-TV will go dark along with WLNY-TV, which is also owned by CBS. Other CBS media properties that will be dropped by Time Warner Cable include cable channels Showtime and CBS Sports Network. |
