Our results suggest that active smokers may be protected against symptomatic covid-19. This was true for outpatients (who have less serious infections) as well as for hospitalized patients. Nicotine and the nicotinic receptor (and not the smoke of cigarettes per se, which is responsible for a very heavy public health burden with more than 78,000 deaths per year in France) may be indeed involved in the pathway leading to viral infection, and particularly in the most severe forms of the disease. Nicotine administration, e.g. via a transcutaneous route may be tested as a therapy to recapitulate the protecting effect of smoking against SARS CoV2 infection.

Amidst all of the hubbub over the shutdown, here’s some news you may have missed: legislation was recently introduced in the House to abolish several large federal agencies.
The bill, known as the Sunset Inefficient and Unaccountable Government Act (H.R. 7334), would abolish the agencies “unless a Federal law disapproving of the abolishment of the agency is enacted…” It was introduced by Congressman Bradley Byrne (R-AL).
The agencies targeted for elimination are:
The Department of Agriculture
The Department of Commerce
The Department of Education
The Department of Energy
The Department of Health and Human Services
The Department of Housing and Urban Development
The Department of Labor
The Department of the Interior
Any office of the Department of the Treasury
The Department of Veterans Affairs
The Department of Transportation
Agencies that would be explicitly spared in the bill are the Department of Defense, the Department of State, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the Department of the Treasury.
The time frames of when the agencies would be abolished range from two years to eleven years from the date of enacting the bill into law.
As to how an agency would be closed, the language of the bill states, “When an agency is abolished under this Act, the head of such agency may take such actions as are necessary to dispose of the assets, obligations, and liabilities of the agency during the one-year period that begins on the date of such abolishment.”
Before anybody working at these agencies panics, . There are only a few days left in the current Congress, plus lawmakers are more focused on the ongoing partial government shutdown, so it is doubtful a bill like this one will get much attention

AT THE COMPLEX DUE TO MANANGEMENT THIS TERROIST CULT IS PROTECTED BY NONWHITE AND NONBLACK POLICE OFFICERS. THE RIDE WITH THIS INDIVIVIDUAL UPON ARRIVING TO PASADENA FOR MY COUNSELING CLASS,HE COMPLETELY PASSED MY DROP OFF DESTINATION AND BEGAN TO LEAVE THE CITYMAKING IT ALL THE WAY TO THE OTHER END OF PASADENA THE DRIVER ATTEMPTED TO BOARD THE FREEWAY AND I MOTIONED TO OTHER CARS SCREAMING AND HE WAS STOPPED, BY OTHER DRIVERS HE GOT BLOCKED THE DRIVER HAD LOCKED ME INTO HIS CAR AND I COULD NOT OPEN THE DOOR I BEGAN SCREAMING AND WAVING TO OTHER CARS FOR ASSISTANCE WITH CARS BLOCKING THE WAY HE UNLOCKED THE DOOR. I WAS ABLE TO ESCAPE AND PHONED THE POLICE AND WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THIS POLICE OFFICER WAS ABLE TO ESCAPE AND GET TO SAFETY. BUT THE ENTIRE SITUATION BEGAN FROM THIS STAKED OUT APARTMENT COMPLEX,
THIS ISI NOT THE ONLY TIME MY LEAVING THE COMPLEX WOULD BE MONITORED OR ENTERFERED WITH. UPON ATTENDING A LOCAL COLLEGE, I WAS STALKED FROM THE COMPLEX AL ALONG THE BUS AND TRAIN ROUTE TO THE SCHOOL,WHERE TWO OF THERE MEMBERS SET UP STANDS ON THE CAMPUS. I ATTENDED LONG BEACH CITY COLLEGE FOR CPT 1 ON THE CAMPUS A DEFAMTION OF CHARECTER WAS SPREAD BY NONWHITE AND NONBLACK EMPLOYEES AND I WAS EVEN CALLED THE "N" WORD BY ONE OF THERE EMPLOYEES, A COUNSELOR TOLD ME MY ADMITTANCE TEST FROM THE PAST WOULD NOT BE USED AND THAT I WAS NOT INTELIGENT ENOUGH TO ATTEND COLLEGE. FOR THE AREA SURROUNDING THE APARTMENT COMPLEX TWO CHURCHES WERE CLOSED DOWN AND THEIR CLOSURES WERE POLICE ASSISTED, BY NONWHITE AND NONBLACK OFFICERS.
AND FOUND ON THE GROUND CONSTANTLY WERE USED DRUG NEEDLES, AND CONDOMS, AND I WITNESSED TWO FEMALES NEARLY OVERDOSING ON WHAT EVER DRUG THEY'S PURCHASED AND TAKEN PURCHASED FROM SOMEONE ON THE APARTMENT PREMISES, I WITNESSED SEVERAL RAID'S UPON THE APARTMENT COMPLEX,AND COULD NOT WAIT TO RELOCATE, COMPLETELY FROM THE STATE, BUT IT SEEMS THRU SOME UNEXPALINABLE EVENT THEY'VE SHOWN UP AT MY NEW ADDRESS, AND THEY'RE JUST AS PSYCHOTIC AS THEY ARE IN CALIFORNIA.BUT MUCH MORE DANGEROUS.

Taylor, 26, was shot and killed after Louisville Metro Police officers broke down her apartment door March 13 to serve a signed no-knock search warrant in connection with a narcotics investigation centered 10 miles away.
Police say they knocked and announced their presence, but Taylor's boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, said he and Taylor didn't know who was pounding on the door.
When police battered in the door, Walker fired what he later called a warning shot. Police say it struck Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly in the thigh.

Mattingly and two other officers — detectives Brett Hankison and Myles Cosgrove — returned fire. Taylor was hit five times and died in her hallway.
Hankison has been fired while Cosgrove and Mattingly remain on administrative reassignment.
The suit was filed April 27 and named the three officers as defendants.
It alleges Taylor's life was wrongfully taken, that police used excessive force and the search was grossly negligent.
An amended complaint filed about two months later additionally claimed Taylor's death was the result of Louisville police's effort to clear out a block for gentrification, and the newly formed Place-Based Investigations unit consisted of "rogue police" who violated "all levels of policy, protocol and policing standards."
City officials vehemently denied the accusations that gentrification played any role in the narcotics investigation.
The case picked up steam and media coverage in May when local attorneys for the estate, Sam Aguiar and Lonita Baker, were joined by Florida-based attorney Ben Crump. He has represented Black Americans killed in controversial shootings, including Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown Jr. and Tamir Rice.
